Patrick thank you, I have recently retired from the military and 01 February 18 started working at a small business in California bringing home 6k a month after taxes plus still collecting checks from the USCG as well so I was able to save a decent amount of money. After 7 months at this job it went under. Now my wife (also ex-military) and I are picking up our 3 children and moving across the country without jobs and no safety net and looking to start our own business in Fitness in sunny Florida. Thank you for reaffirming what I have already suspected. In the service it was no problem for people to handle a Million dollar budget or be in charge of a asset that's worth a couple of Hundred of thousands of dollars. Yet in the civilian world no one wants to give you that shot cause you have no degree. Not realizing all the training and experience and moneys that the government has invested in you only to come out of the military and get a job that pays 65K a year. I want more. Keep the content coming, keep dropping those gems it is greatly appreciated.

I've been a student of your videos for the past 2 months and have sold 144 bottles of my own brand of coffee in this past month (that's all I ordered) from your motivation. I will make it my goal to learn, develop, and strengthen these skills in my 5 years of service. I will continue reading your book list, re-reading your book, and watching your videos, and In the next 15 years tell you about how I made a million dollars using what I've learned from you and others combined with my own drive and commitment.

Hey Pat, great advice in general and also using the things you've learned from active duty to drive the millionaire mindset home. I recently just got out of the Army with 12 years, Honorable discharge, etc. and I can honestly say that I feel the chains that held me back from being in the military slowly coming off. Most of these shackles were mental blocks, tying the rank on your chest to the paycheck and your experience is a mental block and I am finally getting over it. Being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and being shot at really makes you value life back home, not only that, but it makes you realize that you can achieve so much more from life. Survivng three combat tours, anything is possible. I apprecaite your time and effort giving kids who do not have a direction to join any branch of service to attain those skills, hard lessons, and values that flourish into something greater than themselves.

I retired from the service in 2012. I also had some behavioral issues when I first started out. Was also told that I would be better off going home. Military not for everyone. The entire spill. Well I almost listened. A week or so later after having this painful conversation with my squad leader I received orders to Panama. Panama was my saving grace. Loved it. Met my wife there. Been married for 23 years now. My wife was a valuable source of support for the rest of my time in the military. Fortunately i did not listen to my squad leader and stuck it out. Retired after 20 years as a MSgt. I may have hated it at first but i have to admit that the military certainly helped make me into the person I am today.

Great insights brother! I discovered long ago that I do perform better under pressure, just as I do better when I play a 3 minute chess game. Brother, although your insights are hitting all the right targets, it behooves your audience to know that personal belief, counts for 50% of what ever we're trying to accomplish in LIFE!... To believe in oneself is beyond paramount, is actually the SECOND most difficult thing for any of us to achieve. And the MOST difficult one is to FORGIVE oneself! The THIRD one is related to the SECOND one, which is to take MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF ACTION on what we believe!!!!!

I never joined the military. But I believe being out of my home since I was 17 in the world of business has taught me many of these valuable lessons. Anytime I see most of my friends nowadays I think in the back of my mind like wow this generation has got it easy. Most never face the harse reality of the real world and still rely on their parents instead of being independent by the age of 30 or more. However, best of luck to everyone and thank you for video.

From watching this. I have to re-evaluate my thinking again. For me I am an Army veteran. I was a former 11 Bravo Infantryman and a Paratrooper. I also served in combat in Panama 1989-90 and did 2 combat tours in Iraq during 2006-2008. I have jumped out of airplanes and put myself in many dangerous shit that other people would never do. Military service really taught me the fear factor of what I really can do. I have been a follower and I was a Squad/Platoon Sergeant in combat. The reason I am saying this is I lost big time in 2013 when all my investments went down the tubes. I became an active online investor when I was in Iraq in 2007 just to keep my mind away from getting killed on any mission I did and survived either from IEDs, ambushes, or combat patrols. I just found your video by accident. I am going to re-evaluate my situation because I really fucked up. Like combat and the financial world or business. Hesitation will kill you or wound you bad. You are right. I have to look back to how I did things when I was that Airborne Infantry Soldier once upon a time. I will keep you in mind.

Checking in on you. How's it been going since you posted this? Have you made changes? I am a veteran and am trying to move past missing being a soldier. I feel like I lost my identity and it's been hard to establish myself as a civilian - and I'm talking almost 10 years later. Gonna try to keep the warrior mindset and apply it to civilian life.

thats encouraging. I went through 5 months of an outdoor bootcamp in high school, two years in a lockdown residential treatment center and some time in juvie/jail. so im glad all the successful ppl have big struggles, because thats something i have in common with them. those places taught me to adapt and be resourceful.

Patrick, excellent advice today, in 2020, as much as it has been your entire life. Brave of you to share, and so important. I remember EVERY day in my military training. I strongly believe everything I have done in my life was meant to put me where I am today. I own two businesses and I want to work EVERY day. No one controls me , except me. Thank you sir.

I tried joining the army at 17 but did not get enlisted. the 3 weeks screening process alone changed my perspective on a lot of things. I moved on to get my degree and from the onset had a target and was focused in meeting my goals..... Sadly 10 years down the line I dont think I have some of these qualities any longer. But thanks for sharing , it was really inspiring listening to your points. took down all the points and will work on them.

Had you left the military, I doubt I would be leaving this message. Dad was with the 187th Airborne and would talk about the 101 where he teamed up with them.
