@@fortress8471 Laptops are just slower man lol. Even with the same components. If you look at a laptop spec 3060 and a triple fan desktop 3060, the laptop version is weaker., its just a form factor issue. Plus minecraft is a CPU heavy game, so your laptop CPU could just be weak.

It also renders in higher resolution, for example quest 3 has resolution of 2k for each eye. But of course it can vary a lot from headset to headset

I mostly use modrinth unless its not on there, curseforge can be very slow for me, as for the ram im not sure what message youre getting but you can check how much ram is allocated to it. Go to your installations in the minecraft launcher. click the 3 dots on the version you use, click edit, then more options. Under "Jvm arguments" you should see "-Xmx2G", the "2" here is how much ram is allocated. On modded minecraft i would recommend 4-6 Gb, in most cases you shouldnt need anymore. if youre confused there are many tutorials online!! hope thise helps

unfortunately, installing all these mods has just resulted in my SteamVR constantly crashing, taking the game down with it. Not sure if it's the mods or some other setting, but this is quite a pain in the bum

That's... Upsetting, I'm not sure what's causing it, I've never had anyone mention that issue 🤔 Does it work without mods (just Vivecraft installed)? Make sure your mod versions match the version of Minecraft you're playing on, and that you're using the correct mods for your mod loader, that usually fixes issues with other commenters... If you keep encountering issues I suggest reaching out to the Vivecraft discord

@@PlagueDoctorGoober Nah, I'm sure I'm using the correct versions and the correct modloader type. Using just vivecraft works, if just barely. But even so SteamVR seems to have a new habit of crashing a bunch. There is of course a chance I've just messed something up with ALVR-- but I'd have no way to be sure-- I've already reset it once.. If Vivecraft is the only installed mod it works-- but then I don't have enough FPS to enjoy it. Starlight makes the biggest performance boost, and I'd like to find a way to utilise it. Usually when a program hangs, SteamVR handles that ok. But now whenever I try to load into a world, or when in a world, reload a visual (Like enabling some low level shader for instance), SteamVR encounters an error and force closes everything. Over, and over, and over. I'll see about reaching out to the Vivecraft discord about it, thanks for the tip.

Depending on if your GPU is compatible, I highly recommend Nvidium! You can also try Distant Horizons with very little render distance. Also thinking about updating this video for 1.20

1. If you mean tlauncher and similar things, I can't say, this video is using fabric mod loader and I've since switched to quilt, so it works on both! 2. That mod is called immersivemc, and none of these mods should have issues directly with immersivemc!

Is 16 render distance too much? I have installed sodium + lithium, ferritecore, entity culling, more culling and an unstable 90 fps and drops to 60 when loading new chunks, is there a way i can increase my performance? Not from minecraft but from my quest 3 and does airlink have to do something with performance because i don't have a link cable

I would recommend trying Distant Horizons if you would like higher render distance, and if your pc is compatible try using Nvidium! Personally 60-90 is pretty good, you can try changing your refresh rate/resolution

Considering the lag i get in it, Or should i just tweak a few settings for it to give me good performance such as encode bitrate and all that because I'm new to vr.

@@spike-the-legend_stl7685 it could depend on your version, on where you are in Minecraft, and yes, airink can cause issues but it's different for everyone and how good their connection is! If you get the chance to use a nice cable then see if that helps, for me my airline is garbage and I am watching a slideshow but it's due to my poor connection. Also , I got 90 fps consistently because there was nothing going on in that area of the world, if I were in a more dense biome or had a large base, it would most likely be worse

That would work! Minecraft is more of a cpu heavy game! Your gpu is more than fine, I would make sure you have a good cpu! I use a Ryzen 5 5600x and it works for me at 8 chunks, sometimes it stutters when rendering chunks tho

@@ralphlara10 my guess is that your specs are part of the problem, VR Minecraft is much more demanding than non VR MC, my recommendations are to keep desktop mirror off, have Render Distance as low as possible and try distant Horizons! Other than that, a pc upgrade

You're talking about the game displaying on your monitor? That can be turned off by going into your VR settings and clicking "stereo rendering", desktop mirror should be in the top right!

You can try downloading the mod menu mod and see which mods are loaded there, thatll give you a good idea on which mods arent loading! Also make sure you downloaded the correct version of the mods, including whether it was the "Fabric" or the "Forge" version of the mods

don't use oculus link or airlink. I know oculus link can take double to triple the performance, and I think it does the same with airlink. ALVR is bad from my cases also if you want best performance use Virtual Desktop! I bought it and jesus my frames were much higher. The reason why you get more FPS with Virtual Desktop is because Oculus link and possible Air link don't just have the video being displayed but it also has to encode it which takes up a lot of performance

@@PlagueDoctorGoober huh that's odd. Ok if I were you I would change the resolution on virtual desktop to the lowest. It will show the GPU recommended next to it. Make sure the VR bitrate is at 36 mbps and make the desktop bitrate is at it's lowest. Also get a wifi 6 pcie wifi card and a wifi 6 router. Or just use ethernet. Also set the max frame rate to 60 or 72 if you have a GTX 1650 super like I do. 60-72 hz is all you can do with a 1650 Super. I would also disable Nvidias overlay if you have an Nvidia GPU since it does mess with Virtual Desktop

man i cant figure out what im doing wrong im using the fabulously optimized mod pack that has all the performance mods and i have a overkill pc with a 4090 and such and im still getting low fps. like steam vrs performance graph is just a straight red line even though it says its running at 2.0ms out of 11.1ms

Do you have your Minecraft window focused on your PC? A mod in that pack might be lowering Minecraft's performance if it's running in the background Try lowering your render distance and turning off shaders If it's still an issue I would join the Vivecraft discord and post there where smarter people than myself can help

It's because your headset can't reach a solid 90hz so it drops to 45 Hz to keep the frame rate consistent

I use Curseforge to be able to run multiple mods but I can't add mods like Sodium, how do you run all your mods? Edit: also for some reason when I play vivecraft blocks in the distant are very pixelated. I dont really play on SteamVR much so I don't know what to change.

The blocks being pixelated is because the screen is so close to your eyes you notice small things like that, if you have an Nvidia GPU, you can look into tinker with the anti aliasing to see if that helps l. I use the fabric loader to run my mods!

Minecraft has to be rendered twice, and with shaders that cripples most PCs, sometimes I've gotten 45 fps with low end shaders but I don't recommend getting VR if you want shaders, although I did have someone say they had a better time with optifine and shaders then these mods so looking into it might benefit you

I have no idea why it would be causing stuttering for you, you can download the Reese's sodium options mod too and see if there are any helpful settings you can change. You don't get stuttering without sodium under the same circumstances?

Minecraft is a very cpu heavy game so expecting high usage from the gpu is a lost cause, as for the low cou usage.. not sure, idr how much mine uses so next time I pop on I'll keep an eye out! Make sure you downloaded the proper versions and if you're on fabric that you downloaded the "Fabric" version and not the forge version, an easy way to see if they're installed are if you download the mod manager mod and see the other mods in the list.
