Omg this video reeeeally hit home for me because I'm 7 yrs natural and i am waist length. But i have been wanting locs for many yrs. My mom doesnt want me to get them! Says my hair is too "pretty" for locs...im like ma u already know ima take GREAT care of my hair smh. My family cant see me having locs...yet my man wants me to stop listening to them and loc up. Im going to loc up. Even tho its frowned upon at my job. Locs are sooooo exotic, earthly, and deep down i think they hold power😂😂 dont judge me. I love your hair girl! And your channel! U inspire me more than u know❤

I'm at the tail end of my ugly stage. I had graduation coming up so I just got marley twists. Lol I was not letting my baby locs that just hit my shoulders be immortalized in my college grad pics. 😂😭 Also when I first got my locs I was wearing wigs to work a lot. I can still get away with afro wigs, tho my locs have gotten way thick so I imagine that won't be an option for much longer. There are tons of options to get thru the ugly phase. I really struggled with not liking how I looked for the longest. I actually found that head scarves were a better option for switching up my look. I still use them all the time to get out of styling my hair lol. Our hair is still versatile and honestly a lot easier to care for in a locked state. I'm about to be 6months! Good luck to all the new locs on the block! Stay with it! You DO find your groove. And don't give in to trying loc extensions either. Let your hair grow organically. It will fill out and form in its own time

I just started mine on the 13th and the touch my shoulders but I am still wearing my wigs lol I'm waiting for them to bulk up.....but I'm so excited for this Journey I already feel empowered because I know greatness is on the way!!!

I started my locs 1/1/19 & I am still waiting for this "ugly stage" to happen. I have a little frizz but that doesn't bother me, Idk if it's because I started with a good length of hair (12 Inches) or it might be different results for different hair textures. After the first month of having my starter locs i became comfortable with them & i am loving the journey. u two are an adorable couple

I absolutely love, love, love love and I have always wanted them...my hair is curly, but I still do two strand twists on my hair and I do a mixture of Shea butter, olive oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, camellia oil and wild growth to keep it from coming loose...I need to get out of the omg it’s frizzy stage and let them stag in longer to actually start trying to loc

I started my locs with the comb coils and those are soooooo UGLY I put braids over my locs and they got damaged thank GOD my loctiction saved them I'm 2 years locd and I LOVE THEM....I think it's the ugly stage because you don't feel like you look as cute and you did with loose natural at least that's how I felt😊
