The "clear and obvious error" rule is the problem. The VAR official is a qualified referee and should be able to make calls without worrying about the on-field referee. Game-changing moments should be up to the VAR because, at the end of the day, the VAR has the angles to be able to make a better-informed decision. Angles that the on-field ref does not have access to.

EPL needs to clarify and simplify the rules. And give proper training to referees. Sometimes even coaches don't understand the rules, especially handball rules. Referees are being asked to apply unclear rules in a split of a second.

I have an expertise at scrutinizing videos that are being played, and I am able to resolve any biases that may be present in the VAR. However, I'M AFRAID OF THE BIAS POLITIC (OF OVERLOOKING PARTIES) CURRENT IN THESE VAR ROOMS. Fans and team owners are not inclined to trust these individuals in these rooms because of what we witness on a daily basis. in particular in England. The media has a big part to play in how VAR is looked at going fwd. No more refs with links to the current PGMOL reviewing decisions and telling everyone what they can see with their own eyes is wrong as the former professionals laugh at him. No more Howard Webb cherry picking and marking his own homework. Skys VAR show should have a journalist who's an expert in the laws & a ref who's removed from the current crop reviewing the audio independently & talking through what went well and what didn't. Webb et al should only have a right of reply.
