Please why the the 0.1vx current source not eliminated when dealing with each of the sources independently

It's because 0.1vx is a dependent source. A dependent source does not produce energy to the circuit on its own. It depends on the other sources.

i dont understand why these are needed to be honest. I can solve these questions perfectly fine using nodal analysis or mesh analysis. I understand that they can be shortcuts, but I am able to already solve these questions quickly without superposition.

I mean that is like saying why cramer rule exist when you can solve linear equations faster using elimination method or gauss jordan method

It's because i1 - 0.4i1 = 0.6i1 Just like 1-0.4 = 0.6
