Traveling in Mongolia is such an incredible experience, but it can be hard to find good information about how to travel in Mongolia. Tourism isn't a huge industry in this country, so when we started researching how to travel in Mongolia, we found very few resources. To remedy this, we've made our own video filled with tons of tips for traveling in Mongolia after spending three weeks in the country!
In this video, we answer questions like: where to go in Mongolia? What is Mongolian food like? Can you travel on your own or do you need a tour, how far in advance should you book things? How do you book tours? What is a good budget for traveling in Mongolia? How much time should you spend in Mongolia? Do you need a visa? When is the best time of year to visit Mongolia? How do you rent a car in Mongolia? What are the roads like? Can you use credit cards or is it cash-only? and so much more!
During our visit to Mongolia, we explored the country in quite a few ways. We went around Ulaanbaatar on our own, we hired a private driver for a day to visit Terelj National Park, we joined a tour for 5 day to see the Gobi Desert, and we rented a truck and drove around Central Mongolia by ourselves while camping in our rooftop tent. By the end of our trip to Mongolia, we felt like we had the chance to test our many different ways of seeing the country, which is why we feel capable of sharing lots of good information about how to travel in Mongolia.
We made video about each of these adventures:

Day Trip to Terelj National Park: • First Time in Mongolia...

We talk about what to pack for Mongolia in this video, but if you want to see everything we pack for full time travel, you can check out our latest packing video here: • What to Pack for Trave...
This was our first time in Mongolia, but we are certain it will not be our last!! Now that we know how to travel in Mongolia and feel comfortable with the best way to see the country, we are certain we'll be back again to explore more of this amazing country.

One of my most favorite things you've said about this adventure was "why is no one here, don't they know this place is awesome". I think you are helping to get the word out. Starting off from seeing your posts about Mongolia I think I would want to go through a tour company and see if it would be possible to book multiple things through them.

I hope we’re helping to get the word out! We had such an awesome time traveling Mongolia. Going with a tour and booking multiple things through the same company would be a great way to see the country. I think you could pack a lot into a short amount of time that way!

Deciding to visit unintended country at the last moment brings most special memories for sure. But if you had enough time to browse more information and tips online, you could've experience some of our best locations and adventures that people don't normally visit. But I am very honored that you guys have such a positive feeling to our humble country.

You can drive to Gobi desert while visiting sightseeings on the way. But from the south (Dalanzadgad) you can take a flight back to the city as well. If you prefer comfort and spend money on flight as well.

There’s 13th century camping complex which is cool place for tourists. It’s enroute to the Chinggis Khaan’s statue complex. It’s a worthwhile to see this site as if you transported back in time of great Chinggis Khaan.

When you go to countryside try real Mongolian BBQ, it's different than as it known overseas, so not typical type of BBQ. You check out the imgae on google. If you love meat you'll love it. It can be made by local families or your tour can arrange it as well.

what kind of shoes did you wear when hiking the sand dunes
@nicoleandmico

We actually went up barefoot, but I kind of regretted it. Our feet cramped a fair bit and I think wearing sneakers would have helped to reduce the cramping
@blackscreenvideos8

Hello, please wear the boots you wish to throw away. Because walking through the sand dunes in Mongolia are like a rubbing sandpaper on your boots. Colors and finishing will fade away quickly, specially in the front side. So please don't choose your fancy boots.

Mongolen Altai mountains have 6 km altitude from sea level. London has 10m, Moscow has 100m. That's why Mongolia is a kind of the natural water supply source. That's why Mongolia must be virgin wild world and it has to be less populated. Unfortunately, we have been destroying the natural water supply system due to the dirty mining sector since 1990 the democratic system begins. That's why currently European hot summer is missing the natural cooling system from Mongolia.

We had lots of backlogged videos from our travels, but we still put them out in chronological order so you can follow along with the story. Sometimes life just happens and we film a lot if we have exciting adventures lined up :) That gives us a chance to stay still for a while and focus on editing and not filming afterwards as well. It's all part of the balance 😊
