I have a boat tourism business here for private group tours (Boca Boat Tours), and agree with many of your choices. There is much more to the southern shores than Yelapa. There are Boca de Tomatlan, Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas, Los Arcos, waterfalls, horseback riding, and more. The area offers so much beauty, fun, and life-long memories!

Wow, you did a great job with this video. I'm a Mexican American from Guadalajara. I've shortly visited PV over 5 times over the last 2 decades. But you showed me a lot of things I didn't know about the city. I'm impressed. Thanks for the tip about Yelapa. I've heard great things about Sayulita, so I'm definitely going one day. Besides PV, I also like Bucerias and Rincón de Guayabitos, which is a very small town. There's not like a lot to see like in Bucerias or PV, but the water is nice and you get that small town vibe. In holy week it gets crazy downtown. They play banda music and a crowd of a 100 people forms in the middle dancing until 5 am. Though it's not my style much because I don't drink 🤣, but it's interesting to witness that. Also, right next to that town you can find another small town, La Peñita de Jaltemba, where there are lot of retirees from Canada, US and France.

Fun facts: The sleepy fishing village of Puerto Vallarta rapidly became an American tourist vacation hot-spot after the media hype that Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor were secretly having an affair while Burton was there filming "The Night of the Iguana". (Pretty cool movie for black and white) Burton was married to another famous star at the time! Also, in 1995 a large earthquake hit PV and toppled the crown off of the famous church in town. Rumor has it that Ms. Taylor paid to have it rebuilt and the cross at the top is made of designer crystal.. Parts of "Predator" were also filmed there and a restaurant with cliff divers is dedicated to celebrating that fact at Mismaloya. (South of the city in the jungle) The Barcelo hotel in Mismaloya was formerly called the "la Jolla de Mismaloya" and after researching it's meaning I was delighted to learn that it literally means "The caves where they catch fish with the hands" referencing "los Arcos" (Another popular attraction south of the city)
