Thanks for the tour! Such a great house. We've been thinking of relocating to Mexico from the US. It makes it a little more of a possibility seeing affordable, well maintained homes like this.❤

Astonishing what 250k can buy in another country versus the US. We are so financially repressed and it’s going to get so much worse in the coming years.

@@haus.of.masters Indeed. We actually left 13 years ago. On our 35 ft sailboat. We lived cheap and saw a lot of the world from the deck of a small boat. At 6 knots. LOL. But in 2020 Covid made it very difficult to travel to foreign countries, and aging parents in their 90s needed help. And so reluctantly we headed back to the US. We are still living on the boat for much of the year, which somewhat isolates us from the maelstrom. But my FIL is still hanging in there at 98 and so we are limited in what we can do. And we aren’t getting any younger. We figure we might have a two year window from now, where we would still feel comfortable taking off again for another few years. But the sad reality is we know we are running out of time. And since we have been on our boat for 13 years, and for 6 months per year for the prior 3 decades, the consideration of what to do next always ends up in the same place. Which is to say, we have no clue. I’ve actually looked into Uruguay. But the cost to keep a boat in Uruguay is quite expensive. Paraguay intrigues me, but so far, no interest from the wife. So I guess we will bide our time for at least a couple more years and see what happens. May I ask what country you chose?

@@Pelican5077 first I went to Ecuador but my son entering 6th grade and the education system (at the best price school) was at the 3rd grade level compared to USA. So we packed up and came to Mexico 9 years ago. It was the best decision I ever made. Every year life gets better and better here

We share same name😂 Love that house. In Canada that would easily be $800.00K to 1.5 million depending on Province, City.

It's México, where people earn pesos and where $250k usd is too much money for the locals. Americans should side with locals and not pay so much for homes pushing them out of their own towns because they can't afford living there.
@haus.of.masters18 күн бұрын
Supply and demand play a significant role in driving prices. In Puerto Vallarta, for instance, the abundance of new construction has increased inventory, leading to price adjustments in certain parts of town. While some areas may see price reductions, this is largely a result of market dynamics, not a reflection of widespread poverty in Mexico. In fact, I’ve observed substantial wealth in Mexico-often comparable to or exceeding what I’ve seen in parts of the United States. The idea that most Mexicans are very poor is a misconception. Mexico has a growing and robust middle class, with many individuals and families who can comfortably afford homes in the $250K range or higher. Additionally, the country is home to a significant number of affluent individuals who contribute to its thriving real estate market and economy.

Great price, but the financing options in Mexico are very poor with a staggering 11% interest rate.

Yes. It’s much less expensive to take a heloc if you have equity on property in your home country.

As part of any due diligence you should get an inspection. In Mexico, you don’t put any funds down until your contingency period is over.
@MrMC-xg8qp16 сағат бұрын
Beautiful home but I agree that foreigners are paying too much for these homes. It's called gringo tax. Get with the locals when you want to find the real price of homes. They have US prices in Mexico when the dollar is much higher than the peso. Gringo tax is everywhere in Mexico.
@haus.of.masters16 сағат бұрын
It’s all about supply and demand when it comes to pricing. Since COVID, Puerto Vallarta experienced a surge in home sales, but we’re now seeing prices begin to decrease and stabilize.
