Press and hold the park for five seconds and you’ll turn on the parking brake. Thanks I learned some new stuff.
@CfTesla4 жыл бұрын
So there is a difference between the break that gets put on when you hit park and the "parking break" when you hold? I did not know this. Thanks
@BLUEBIRD-19604 жыл бұрын
Cf Tesla I think it’s a third brake on the rear wheels only. Also the brakes in a Tesla are very unique. They actually lift off of the pads so as not to create any drag. This is one of the unique innovations of a TESLA. There are many innovations like this. Also I’m not aware that your battery is warmed up when you put in a supercharger station unless certain factors occur. Number one you need to be within a certain distance of it. Number two that distance changes depending on how cold your batteries are in the outside temperature. This is all part of the battery management software or BMS that make teslas so efficient. I am aware that you can use your app to turn on The temperature inside of the cabin and I have been told that this of course will warm up your batteries. I try to do this about 15 minutes before I go anywhere. The other thing you can do is change your charging time so that it ends very close to the time you plan on leaving. Or you can charge most of the way in charge the last five or 10% just before you leave. Thanks keep up the good work and I hope your channel grows bigger. I started a KZbin channel but I never put much time and energy into it. But I am long on Tesla And hold quite a bit of stock in it. And I know several other KZbin or’s that have met Elon Musk. You might know one of them Eli Burton. He’s the one that goes around dressed as Starman.

Cf Tesla Thank you that’s good to know. I really only use it when I change the tires and how to jack up the car
@jordanbanko53474 жыл бұрын
Geoffrey Hodies I know the pre-facelift Model S had the dual brake calipers (1 for rear pads and one for ebrake instead of a standard drum) like what most supercars use. After the refresh they went to the one caliper (1 piston I believe instead of 4), but I’m not sure where the ebrake went (maybe drum?). How is it on the Model 3?

Fantastic video with great tips when I first got my Tesla model 3 friends kept telling me I had parked it with the window(s) down. I soon learned that I was nudging the window control buttons as I opened the door and got out. ( they were so quiet I never noticed) but I didn’t know you could close the remotely so each time I had to make a trip to the car. I do the cloth cleaning of the cameras and I also use rain x on the pillar cameras ( but no the other cameras) and it helps a lot stopping the ‘your pillar cameras are not working’ warnings every time there is heavy rain or low winter sun. Biggest help there though was joe at Tesla service found the clear protective transit film had NOT been removed from the pillars. I couldn’t even see the film so if your having a lot of pillar camera warnings its worth checking. Great video and thanks for making it slick, short and too the point. An awful lot of long over egged videos these days maybe looking to get more adverts.

Thanks for all the kind words and tips Douglas! I haven't tried the Rain x on the pillar but I have been wanting to because it is a problem here in Seattle for sure. I am definitly going to check about the film but I don't get many warnings there. Please keep commenting!

The touchscreen doesn’t respond to the heat (or pressure) of your finger. It is a capacitive surface so it’s actually detecting the electric charge of your finger. The folded cloth blocks the charge but the thin fabric allows it to pass thru. A temperature based screen would have all kinds of issues when cabin temp and screen surface temp varied. Not being picky - just thought you’d want to know how it actually works. Great tips. Again

Another great video CF. Here's a temperature tip for those of us who live farther north that ties in with your double tap defroster tip. I've noticed once it gets below -30C, the cabin heater just can't keep up unless I put HVAC into recirc. But within a couple minutes, the windows start fogging up. Then I double tap the defrost and it goes full into defrost (with recirc off so it cools off pretty quickly!). Once the windows are clear, one tap of defrost sets it back to your last HVAC setting (recirc off) but then you get warm air again. A bit of a pain but it gets me home (45 minute drive) safely and warm.

Great comments from your fans. You mentioned that double tapping the defrost puts it into HI. I also read or heard it also turns on the outside rear view mirror heaters. I tried it while visiting family up in Montana and the mirrors instantly started defogging. Haven’t needed it since I’m back in central Texas. 😱

At 8:37 in video. You touch the defroster button once (goes blue) all it does is blow more air towards windshield and side front windows by side mirrors. This is to help a little to prevent windows from fogging up. However, in cold weather (Minnesota 5 below) you want to add more heat to clear the fog/frost. So you touch defroster button again (goes red) and heat level goes to max. Off, blue-blow, red-blow hot.

The Tesla function that I absolutely love is operated from the Tesla App and it is under the Control feature called "vent" which lowers all 4 windows about 1/4" and even at highway speeds it provides a wonderful flow of fresh air - a little noisy at freeway speeds but for city driving it's wonderful. Problem is you have to activate it from the Tesla App, not on the display which means you have to stop the car to engage it.

Hi Richard from my understanding you can't get a recent station off your screen until you go to enough others that it gets pushed off. There is very little if any customization on the screen at this point. To find the stations on the route tap the screen when you are navigation and on the bottom right in the same pop up as the satellite map on/off toggle there is a lightning bolt you tap.

Thought of a neat extension to one of these today... in the Nav, all the recent trips are available to re-select. Well, so are all the trips you share from your phone. So, one thing that’s not yet supported is multi waypoint trips; but, if you spend a few minutes sharing each intended waypoint destination to the car, then they are in the car Nav waiting for you. With that, each can be selected along the way as you go from one destination to the next.
