My Dungeon/Torture Chamber (aka Test/Repair bench) is illuminated like the Full Sun. Not only are you brighter than me, you also see so much better. Cameras typically make things look brighter than the eye sees. It seems in your case, your eyes are better than the camera you use. Thanx for doing these Stefan.

Maybe the camera reduces the brightness in Auto-mode. I don´t know.

Yes, top notch in those days and even today its quality is top - compared to the scrap which is sold today.

Another intermittent problem, my favorite! Just kidding of course - I hate them. I just completed repairing an HP 3314A Function Generator that had had a serious power supply fault that turned several tantalum capacitors into little lumps of carbon. After repairing the supply and replacing all of the caps the unit had an intermittent fault - it would sometimes appear to be completely dead when powered up with all supply rails good. Turned out to be a Schmitt trigger in the power supply monitor that was no longer Schmitting consistently and was holding the processor in reset. Good luck with your fault. Regards, David

when i saw those ROE and FRAKO yellow and orange capacitors in the power supply, i said "yup, they all must go" . Those are by far the worst type of electrolytic capacitors i've encountered in German made electronics. Not just audio equipment, but TVs too. They were good 40 years ago, but they are really bad now. Really bad.
