That LCD "crawling black disease" as you say will only get worse with time...I had a nice portable radio that suffered from that and it finally went to recycle as the whole display disappeared! Thank you Stefan for another interesting repair video. A few months ago while restoring a Wavetek SSI-3000B Service Monitor I needed to replace a five digit LCD display with a bad ELP backlight. I was able to purchase one from a German supplier, TNE-Elektronik and add a LED backlight with excellent results. They seem to have a wide variety of displays and might be a good source if you decide to replace that defective display. Regards, David
