This 1908 Indian Torpedo Tank board track racer was displayed at the Legend of the Motorcycle show in Half Moon Bay, CA, in May, '08. That's right, it's 100 years old and in original condition. A true, unrestored "barn find", it won the Best of Show award. Check out my other videos, and please leave a comment. I'd like to hear from you.

What's interesting to noticed is that the spokes disappear when it's spinning up fast. Pretty cool.

Great to see these old motorcycles. Really reminds you that they started off as bicycles with engines on it. Really cool.

That thing is so simple, but yet quite functional. Would be fairly easy to build one and be a low cost item. Imagine Indian making bikes like this one! This is something to see...a piece of modern marvel in action from that time. Probably more than half the country was still using trains and horses to get around!

Too bad they don't have any old board tracks around anymore! I would have given my left nut to see this bike racing and the wild men who had the balls to race these bad ass bikes! They say the boardtrack racers were considered "idols" kinda like the sports heros of today, and many people flocked to the boardtrack races in hopes of seeing carnage and were not disapointed. I understand they outlawed boardtrack racing because there were too many deaths involved with the sport. nice bike!

2 cyl ( two stroke ? ) What's the top speed? I'm thinking it be twice as fast as a ( 30mph) moped. Does it have a high and low range? Or is that a bar that engages the chain ?

How would you like to take that thing for a ride at 60 miles an hour with no brakes they did not have brakes on them does that answer your question why they don't ride them you don't want to wreck a hundred thousand dollar motorcycle just because you felt you should take it for a ride

Good Day, You don't see many bikes that age still operable,eh! I'm surprised it only smokes a wee bit. ....something tells me, should time allow,....would today's 2010 bikes last that long,..or would our computerized ignition, & plastics become too ozone depleted to be usable. Meaning fade away from the lack of durability to sunlight & time or natural corrosion.

The slowest bike i ever had only went 27 miles an hour. Many impatient people got angered by that bike. And i though i would have to defend myself a few times from those scum people who think they own the world and the roads they drive on. The truth is, the governments own us all, so no reason to get mad because your driving to slow. ;)
