Please tell us about your boards. Are they wood? From a Home Depot? Bought at an art store? How thick? They almost “sound” like gator board. Are they primed with gesso? How many coats? Thanks!

How Gayle! I get my balsam wood panels I’m using here (12x12 basswood panels, 1/8th in n thick). I out two coats of gesso on one side. 🌺🌺

No it are not done -I am working on 8 paintings at once throughout this series; none of them will be finished until later in the series. I will show you how I finish all 8 and when they are done, you will know for sure 😉

Sorry but what is a slop board?

Oh - I should have explained that! A slopboard is created by putting leftover paint from your palette or brushes in a haphazard way - without any thought or concern for what colors end up on the board. These boards look messy and lack any direction-but the good thing is at least they’re not white! I find it easier to work on a slopboard than on a white panel. Thanks for your question!
