1910 Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Garbage Rescue

I found this Antique 1910 Singer treadle sewing machine cabinet next to the garbage bin waiting for pickup. I knew the truck was in the neighborhood and had to rescue this beautiful piece of history. It is now ready for a proper display of winter quilts or some work on some Antique piece work quilts and samplers.

My grandmother had a sewing machine like that. It was fabulous it could sew just about anything using the appropriate foot. It could also be used for free arm quilting and also for embroidery. It was beautifully decorated and still worked perfectly after more than 60 years of use. My cousin inherited it. I hope she still has it.

Awesome find. I have several treadles. Just buy a new leather belt, that one is dry rotted. They are very cheap. I love to sew on them once in a while, it is very relaxing. Have fun!
