No details recorded of who or where the engine was sold to but is known that it was built for export to Canada.
Recently purchased by myself in January 2024. The engine is to have believed to have been brought back from Canada in 2008 in pieces and restored between 2008 and 2012.
The engine is needing another restoration as it is worn internally with what sounds like little end wear.
These engines are different to the “English Ball’s” as they have a much more incorporated ball hopper compared to the English Ball Hoppers giving more water capacity and better water flow in the cylinder along with a slightly larger water capacity.
The plan for the engine long term would be to remove it off its current trolley and mount it on a base/platform that is much lower to aid easy storage along with sorting the mechanical issues and a fresh paint job. This is a long term plan.
