I'm not a diehard fan but I do think this is absolutely flawless. For me, its his best version of HCTF but I'll open that deabte up to more knowedgable Gabriel fans. Anyways, I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I do

I find myself disagreeing with a lot of people here, I think the fact that he holds back a lot in this version forces you to appreciate the lyrics more, almost as a poem rather than a song. I think it's nice to have this kind of variety. If you have a problem with this, listen to the other versions! I'm glad we have this many quite frankly lol.

He changed the first word of the chorus from "Lord" to "Lo". It's his song and he can do what he likes, but I don't see a compelling reason for this change. In this context the use of the word "Lord" is more of an expletive than a profession of faith, so it shouldn't offend atheists.

Yet another lazy, passionless, professional rendition of this brilliant song. It's okay: but... is that what we want? Will Peter Gabriel never sing this song properly, again? If he's not willing to do the song justice (and believe me, I'm a huge fan), wouldn't it be better that he leave it out of his set altogether? 'Gethsemane' in 'JCS' has notes that have to be hit, in order for the song to 'click'. This song similarly, has pitches to be reached in order for the power of the tune to be felt.
