Very familiar with this model by starting and running one that was over 30 years old in the 1950's and still ran like clockwork

Hi Lee I have just purchased a P type which I have been told is the same as the N type so just a quick question do you have your engine number? Would be interesting to know how different the engine numbers are as mine was converted to a petrol at some stage and I’m trying to get a rough idea on the build date the engine My engine # 28024 6hp @ 350RPM type 7P Any help would be great Cheers Lee

Hi Lee So. A P type is the petrol paraffin version of an N type that is petrol only. Going off your spec it is an original P type from the factory. 27410 is this engine number so yours will be around the same age of 1920. If you email Doreen Edgington [e-mail] with the serial number of the engine she will be able to date it accurately for you as she holds the original records. Her late Husband David wrote a book on the H-R. It would be worth asking her if she has a copy as it has a lot of information on them and it might help shine some light on your P type for you. Lee
