The cannon looks great but I am glad you found the gunpowder residue first! Turning a new rivet and axle was a good idea and the gold paint pen really makes it stand out. Thanks for sharing this and I am always amazed at how nice and new looking everything you restore looks.

Two comments: - Only use a brass / bronze (non sparking) ramrod - Put a bit of steel wool soaked in WD-40 in the barrel after the wad - fun 😉
