You would think if the story were true everyone would have heard of it before a couple years ago. No one has ever mentioned this car in the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc but is supposed to be a legend that smoked actual 9 second cars that have been documented?

GQ and the story about the Black Ghost was absolutely fantastic. Quality of video was great, and the story was seriously fantastic. What a good man and his son seems like a great guy too. I truly couldn’t get enough of that story. What a legend that man and his car truly are. They are so deserving of this honor that they should get a special accolade of some sort because that car will draw thousands and thousands of people to research, visit, and contribute to the NHVR by its story alone. That family just can’t get enough credit and props for being such good people.

I was born in '71. Very nearly came in with the Challenger, but the Challenger's not going out :D My first car was a Green 2 door '72 Pontiac Catalina I got for $400. The body lines were so much like the Challenger I just loved it. Drove like a boat though, springs were shot. Could still do 110 when it was 20 years old. With bad springs, it's a wonder I survived my 20's. Open up all 4 butterflies and hear the drive chain tick. XD

Ha ha ha . An its a good car economy wise and can't turn to save your life. Which reminds me I was thinking of retromoding it because you can get it to steer so much more safely now and I was told by at least one person who watched a couple of his own burn I was lucky that it was wired in such a way that it could actually drive for a extended period of time and I drove it every day almost for 16 years.

I am not sure how to feel about this. I wish we knew the real story. I mean I love the challenger and without the story it is still amazing that it appears to be an original survivor. I am sure there is - well no I wasn’t there so can’t be sure, but there is likely some truth to the story but likely has been blown way up to get to the point it is at. I hope it isn’t just a scam money grab. It does seem like it may be a bit of a slap in the face to some others that were racing the streets at that time. Also a bit suspicious that they would end up selling the car. Could have been passed on to the next generation, but money talks I guess.
