All that and my 1921 dodge touring car is a 12 volt, the were way ahead then society wanted it back to six volt, the 1948 Dodge Coupe rear brake light is on the trunk and turn signals are on the fenders. So that third brake light isn't a new safety feature.

My grandfather was a Dodge man and had a 1917 and later a 1923. He was a high school teacher who had summers off, and he, my grandmother, and my dad (born 1916) went on epic car camping road trips all over the Western USA in these cars in the early to mid 1920s. My dad recorded an oral history in the '80s in which he talked about these trips. It's great to see and hear a little of what they experienced from inside those cars.

We've got one of these in our museum! Made from 1915-1924 in Hamtramck, Michigan, this car was one of the only ones with a quiet starter (to not make any fashion statements). The Dodge Brothers seem more practical than Ford...in fact, after leaving the Ford company to start their own, John Dodge even said, "Just think of all the Ford owners who will someday want an automobile."

I have 1925 DB Touring. As I'm shifting I hear grinding of the gears. I try to rev match or slow down to shift but cant seem to get into gear smoother. And when I get into third gear the power output drops. Am I not going fast enough to transition into third? Can you give some advice or talk about how to rev match to limit the amount of grind?
