Only the noise gating on the loud passages gives away its digital restoration. Once again the 78prof has given us a lesson in sound quality. The EQ of the horn resonances is really good along with how he chose the low- and high-pass curves.

BEAUTIFUL!!! For some reason or other there is most of the time a wailing trombone in these early Brunswick Records (1:04 & 2:25) ! I LOVE it! it gives these little Sweethearts a sound all there own!

I just got through listening to Stan Freberg`s version! GEEEEEZE!

Freberg's hilarious version was a parody of the Les Paul and Mary Ford version, which was a big hit in the early 50's. (You can't really "get" his version until you hear theirs.)

I am looking for the version i heard in my head this afternoon. I thought this was close -- but no lyrics. Onward i go. Came back to say that Oh my gosh -- it was the Stan Freberg version!

Is the original song by Ernest Seitz and Eugene Lockhart copyright-free? It sounds like a great video game intro.

(This is from an American perspective, copyright law is different in other countries and as such is subject to different laws and regulations, i'm not a lawyer.) well, actually, yes. all sheet music and lyrics, published during or before 1925 (soon to be 1926 on Jan 1st 2022 which is public domain day) is in the public domain. and, now. starting on Jan. 1st 2022, for the first time ever. every single sound recording from before 1923 (including this version of the song "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise" will become completely public domain thanks to the Music Modernization act which among other things finally set a copyright standard for sound recordings and a point into which they enter the public domain. and now, every year from here on out (unless some prick in congress decides to stave off copyright for another 20 years as happened in 1998 causing no new things to go public domain until a few years ago in 2019) sound recordings will be among the various things that will enter the public domain yearly. so, if you want to right now you (as of this post) you can record your own copy and use it and as of Jan. 1st 2022 you'll be able to use this recording as well. in any manner you see fit. as well as a plethora of other recordings from pre 1923. i implore you, though. if you to decide to use this for a video game, don't copyright your 8-bit version. you ought to make it public domain as well. i wouldn't want to see any works i made locked under copyright and you shouldn't either.

@@faggoteditor9297 You make me wonder whether that Brunswick-Balke-Collender patent was ever granted! (as printed on the record's label)
