The WF in front of the number of the kit in the line stands for With Figure. The original kits didn't come with the figures and the numbers were the same but didn't have the WF. The WF series also has CG box art with the character on the box art, the original series had traditional line art styled box art.

Yep. And the original ones came in 1994. And there's no difference between this and the original ones except for the inclusion of the pilot figures.

I've had two of each of these on back-order from HLJ for 2 years and going on 3 this fall, so Bandai hasn't reprinted them in all that time. However, I did get two Non-grade 1/144th scale kit of the original Tallgeese I in the past year, so I stay hopeful. I had built these back in the day when gunpla kits were called "Action Figure Model Kits," here in the US. These kits you have here, were the 2nd reissue with more Japanese writing and those versions had the pilot figures that nobody seemed to be interested in, haha. Since we have yet to received a Virgo Mobile Doll gunpla, people salvaged these to make a kit of the Virgo, but your would have to use both to do so. Great unboxing!

haz chem Interesting. You know, I made my back-order before the website change. Maybe mine was forgotten? However, I did get the Tallgeese reprints around that same time. I'd hate to canel tge back-order and make a new one that puts me in the "back of the line," you know? =P. I'm not in any rush to get them. What was funny though, was I had a backorder for 08th MS Team Gouf Flight Type. I got the reprints in, and they announced the MS Origin Gouf Flight Type kit. I was like, crap, lol!

They were originally from 1995 (when Wing was originally airing in JP) but later rereleased/repackaged with the pilot figure for the US/Western release, so this is still quite a kit from that time (polycap hands and all)

Lol, I built that Vayeate back in like 2001 when I was obsessed with Gundam Wing. I survived a few years next to a Heavyarms and a Zoids kit, before they all collapsed.

I own and have built every one of the Wing NG 1/144 when they were first released in the U.K. in the early 2000’s. I was young, snapped them all up (poorly), saw how ‘derpy’ they were, put them in their boxes and stared collecting the action figures instead as they looked better out the box. They are in my parents loft currently, along with the complete collection of early HG 1/100 Wing and Endless Waltz kits (again just poorly snap built and left). My skills have thankfully improved with more modern kits

Built the vayaete and the deathscythe (my first gunpla actually) around 2004. Also managed to grab both of these at 2nd hand/used toy store for 4 bucks, was thinking of kitbashing it with the HG Leo. Still haven't gone around into doing that.

This is the series that got me into Gunpla. Still have my Death Scythe and Tallgeese. The stickers already fell off and some parts are already loose but they are still pretty good.

Considering the recent trend of Bandai producing grunt suits from HGAC, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw new kits of the Virgo as wide release and these two kits as P Bandai using similar joints.

I never realized how similar these two are to the Leo (or rather, to the Tallgesse). I mean, if you think about it it's logical, but I guess 14 y/o me wasn't very perceptive. Having said that, an HG that uses the Leo as a base or an RG that uses the Tallgesse as a base should be fairly simple to make for Bandai... so long as they release a Heavy Arms revive first. Seriously, sometimes I think it's going to be the last of the Wing kits to get a revive (and with the Sandrock announced, that possibility has grown considerably).

yeah. You'd think just certain parts would be good for kitbashing at least, I wanted to use the old FAZZ mega cannon. But they still require so much work to look good, even if you're only using a few parts.

I have these kits. Got them a long time ago and they are extremely meh overall. Mines didn't come with those figures though; I guess Bandai must had included those in later issues. I have the Tallgeese, Sandrock and Epyon from this same too. Epyon and Sandrock are okay but the Tallgeese is pure trash. These two are great contenders for the RE/100 line, or least get HGAW kits. Hope to see an update of these two someday.

I build this hit years ago. Tbh, this kit hasn’t aged that well at all. Even with lots of carefulness the seam lines & nub marks are just horrid. Not a good contender for straight build, you at least need to sand it down & paint it to make it even marginally better.

I just want to mention that the images of the pilots on the front of those boxes suck. it's like they took a screenshot of the characters from the anime when they were talking mid-sentence. that's really low effort.
