The competition was getting hot....Chevrolet for the first time outsold Ford. It sure got Ford's attention! This is a really nice car...looks like it would have been comfortable and a secure, dependable ride!

I remember reading years ago that back in the 20s car makers painted everything black or very dark blue because color paint hadn't yet been perfected to withstand the effects of weather and the sun. I seem to recall that early parking garages were created as a way to offer security to a business owner by dropping him at his office floor while protecting the paint on his limo. Nice little Chevy - gray isn't black, easy to clean wheels and flower vases too! Thanks Jack!!

+46619TAB Hey, Terry! That's interesting...and it makes sense that automotive paints had to have time to evolve! This is one nice little Chevy...no wonder it outsold Ford! Thanks! :) Jack

Really pretty. I'd happily pay twice the original price to the owner for it. No problem! ;) I like the vase on the pillar behind the driver's door, too. A very nice touch.

LOL! I'm sure the owner would be pleased! Those vases were fairly common back in the day...even surviving to the dash mounted example in the new Beetle! Thanks! :) Jack

Hi Jack, beautiful car! What I'm curious about was the spare tire as it didn't seem to have a rim. I'm curious to how its changed and stays in place. I will have to look that up. Great video! Thanks Jack!

+Dan Johnson Hey, Dan! Those were disc wheels, methinks with the tire mounted around its circumference. This may give a little info on it: www.autoevolution.com/news/history-of-the-wheel-7334.html Thanks! :) Jack

I like Ford but this is a nice old Chevy I would not complain if I had it to drive I noticed those Neat jeweled things on the fender could they be blinker or marker lights

+not2fast4u2c Hey, Jim! It really was cool seeing a Chevy of this vintage! I too wondered what those jeweled things were...I don't have the answer to that. Thanks! :) Jack

That motor wasn't as good as the flathead Ford A. The six was not a bad motor. And it was indeed considered a pretty car back then.

+20alphabet Thanks for the perspective on that...and they would launch the 6 in 1929, which did serve them well. :) Jack

Jack R Chevrolet seemed to have a knack for making nice inline sixes.
