Hello Jay, Great show man and thanks for it. I was riding my bike through NJ and came upon an antique shop and found a "Gabriel" 1932 Model SJ Town Car Duesenberg Metal Kit. I said Leno gotta have this!. I would like to donate this unassembled in the box to you and your Gallery. Contact me if you folks are interested and I will make delivery arrangements. Thanks again. Keep the shiny side up!

Visited the Auburn, Cord, Dusenberg museum last weekend. If you ever find yourself near Auburn indiana it's is well worth a visit. Works of art on wheels, history and some of the finest engineering of the day. They also have other interesting cars, Tucker, Packard, early Corvette, Sunbeam and a few rare one offs. After seeing several Dusenberg's in person I now know why Jay has such admiration for them.

DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder + pent roof combustion chambers - just like a modern engine, but in the late 20's.

Jay, I doubt you read these comments but seeing this video reminded me of 25 years ago I was 15 and worked for a guy named Johnny Pascutchi in Connecticut and he took me for a ride in his duesenberg, it was the most beautiful car I've ever personally rode in. I can't remember it's model year but it seems like 1929, he said it was worth more than a million but IDK. Love this channel and like the steam engines.

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching Gooding Auctions in the US selling a 1931 model J Duesenberg which had been restored from the ground up. It went for US$11,000,000 and there are a few companies in the US that are restoring them.. Not many left now.

Jay, have ever thought of having a Design Contest for a body design concerning that duesenberg chassis? There could be several categories. Modern, period correct, futuristic, etc. You wouldn't have to build a body or put one on it. First prize could be a trip to and tour of your garage.

The model J Duesenberg is powered by a Lycoming straight eight, NOT a Duesenberg designed engine. E.L. Cord wanted the best and fastest engine in these cars, E.L. Cord owned Lycoming, Lycoming engines were also used in the Cord 812.

What about a Duesenberg Truck. You got all that room in the back for a truck body. You could make the front a duesenberg with the body open and doors like a limo cab and than the back a truck.

Actually if he put tail and brake lights on it it is 100% legal at least in MO. Actually since he has a window that rolls down (or lack thereof) he can use hand signals so according to the MO state inspectors book he really doesn't need them. It has headlights, brakes, good tires and even seatbelts. Lack of a windshield or doors isn't a problem either. Just look at all the jeeps running around without them. You need eye protection however and if you do have a windshield you need wipers but doors, fenders or hood is optional. Most dune buggies are just a stripped as that car.

5:02 jay you terrify me God for bid if you get in an accident I can just imagine it will be in the newspapers and television it’ll say Jay Leno dead due to car accident in his body less 1929 Duesenberg. Slow down you don’t have to trump it. I don’t think in 1929 they were driving that fast. And by the way how can you drive a car with no body no windsheld doors no helmet goggles Down a highway without having the lapd chasing you?

It would be practical you could put all your groceries in the back and car supplies like spare tires or car batteries. It would be one of the kind worlds first truckenberg with a 1939 style truck body on a duesenberg. 2 doors straight back no windows, Just full body truck with a wood floor. Would could be easier to fabricate. Could get Bike Builder Jessie James to make it.

Thats why Jay always wears the same clothes. Apart from the video quality it's hard to tell this is probably 10+yrs old. But closely you can see Jay does look a little sprukier, there are no GoPro camera's/face mic, wind noise is terrible and Jay has to shout. Anyone know how old this clip is ?

That would make more sense. I couldn't make my mind up because there didn't look to be enough wiring coming off the distributor/mag cover, the siamese on the exhaust ports looked too close together and the inlet side looked right for a 4-pot.

Two brothers from Germany probably arrived in America without a word of english. A racing car engine for a luxury road car - an engineering achievement par excellence. Unfortunately, like Bentley, the costs of producing such engineering were too much. I should, also, imagen that the performance was too much for the roads, tyres and brakes and not least, the drivers, during the 1930's.

Fab a instrument cowl for it?.. That's not really making a body commitment. With a little thought you could do so unobtrusively with a minimal or ghost footprint ( no holes) Quick release would be cool where you could have it off with 4-8 attatchments.. Would give you a place to mount a windscreen. Some alum or engine turned steel or something else.

I got an idea. i know that Jay likes the car without a body and he probably rarelly drives it but if he wanted u could put a clear see through body on it. maybe a body made from tough clear bullet proof glass. then you could still see through to all the cool chasis and the engine but it would have a body to protect the car from any possible dirt or damage.
