In this video, I finish the wood and we start prepping the body for paint. Also I take the chassis apart.

Nice work; good progress. I like the fact that you explained the pros and cons of lifting the engine out of the chassis. Your method using the chain on opposite sides of the engine will make the re-install a WHOLE lot easier! Been there and done that.

Yep. Just need to shim the longer bolt so that the chain stays next to the block, that it will not slide outward and put a strain on the end of the bolt and possibly snap it off.

Very nice work. Main thing I have run into is aftermarket sheet metal parts usually don’t fit up without modifying them some! I always enjoy your videos. Thanks, Tom

Looking forward to seeing things being reassembled next video! The andalusite blue seems more blue than original, but maybe that's just the lighting. Either way it's a great colour! 👍

I love the way you explain what you are doing. Do you restore cars for other people? I have a 29 Fordoor, that’s be in my garage for years. It’s a good solid body .No rust just surface. Let me know. Thanks. Robert

when i was in autobody college they did'nt allow armorall or any products like it in the building start spraying that stuff on interior panels/tires it would damage every car in the shop. they had a ozone machine we used it on collision and or water damage cars made me do that outside the building to

what’s the peace above the windshield that caps the wood called. do you have a video that shows visor install
@onewhocollects6781 Жыл бұрын
I believe it's called the header panel. Unfortunately, I didn't film installing the visor, but it's entirely held on with screws underneath and on the sides.

Can someone tell me why cars from this era have soft tops? Why not sheets metal roofs?
@gregf57302 жыл бұрын
If I recall correctly it was because they didn't have the technology to do a stamping that large or in that shape. The 1937 model was the first Ford to have an all steel roof.

They didn't have the tooling at the time.

Where are you located? There's a high school not too far from me that has a Model A restoration class that would love to take donations.
