Another great hang with my favorite restoration guru! Thanks for another awesome vid Bruce. FYI I just posted a Camco video. I mentioned you at the end and provided a link to your impressive Camco snare video. I love that video. ✌️

Good information, I read that Ludwig produced the news letters because Leedy did it first and called Leedy topic’s magazine. I had a 1920s snare with rope snare wires that I couldn’t get through the strainer holes either not sure how the factory did.

Yeah Ron, I have several Leedy drum topics from the 20s and 30s and they are great! I think that particular loom is made for either smaller diameter rope or silk wire wound, which is what I installed. Hope you liked the restoration, and good to hear from you friend. Bruce

I would have never used a wire wheel or brush on tarnished metal. Rusty steel or iron? Yeah, obviously. But chrome/nickel plating there are better things to use that won't ruin the plating. Remember, it's a thin layer, and depending on quality, can be much thinner than you may expect. Cleaner compounds are available for such tasks, but also home remedies are also a great way to safely remove tarnishing. I always clean any tarnished metal like this because I prefer that, "new" look. But I have been told by some appraisers that the patina often adds value to the piece. So some consideration is always advised. When in doubt, find an expert.
