yes, we try to give good names, at least. but our elites try to destroy even this. some rich people thought was a good idea to call Brazil "United States of Brazil". just in 1968, someone said, "yeah... maybe this name doesn't make sense here..." now we are the "Federative Republic of Brazil". Not a great name but at least we are not coping another country.

My beloved country can't stay more than 50 years without a coup, the empire did one on Portugal, the military did one on the monarchy, again the military did one on the republic, then the republic did another one on itself, later in 1964 the military again (backed by the CIA) did another coup on the republic and later there was the last one for now in 2016. Hope there is no more and we stay a democracy.

Really common misconception in your video regarding the Coffee with Milk system. Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais would not take turns in power, in fact there were even presidents from other states. They would mutually agree on a president to represent then. Hence one of the presidents of the time being from Paraiba

@mynamedoesnotmatter66355 жыл бұрын
@@anonymousanonymous7250 You do realize that doesn't make him a fascist, do you? Also, the Brazilian "dictatorship" (it was not a dictatorship) of 64' was nothing but a reaction to the multiple attempts of communist takeover. It was an interventionist authoritarian (but not totalitarian) nationalist regime, which was put in place democratically. For you to have an idea, the closest we've been to an actual fascist dictatorship in Brazil was with Vargas. I'm not saying I agree with Bolsonaro, all I'm saying is that calling him a fascist is inappropriate.

Actually, dairy products are much more prominent in the south of Brazil, and there was no such thing as "milk and coffee" in the oligarchic republic, since it was NEVER about alternating powers between 2 states. What happened in 1929 was discontent over Luis' unwillingness to approve new politics to control the price of coffee. One thing led to another and the coup happened, but there was nothing unusual in a paulista coming after another in the president's chair. This was just a component on a much larger machine. If you are to talk about the "Coffee and Milk Republic", then you should first explain to people why there was no "Coffee and Milk Republic"
