Hey Tim, when working on a Model A, that has been untouched for 94 years, Hear is your best friend . Go down to your local hardware and get a bottle of MAPP gas. not propane. propane will take forever. Then the blaster or even WD 40, heat will expand the steel, colder blaster or Wd40 will shrink it back down to size, everything should be free only requiring slight persuasion. Good luck your learning. also use a 3ft pipe for breaker bar

Which part of the spring perch did you paint? The shaft section that goes into the front axle, was that painted, or did you apply any kind of anti-seize to it? Did you install it dry?
