I've never seen that picture of Grand Central Station. Very fine how they built the windows so that sun would shine in beams. That place must have been amazing at its peak.

I love the elegance of the arrangements of That’s My Desire. Dick Robertson had that “something” very evocative. On the other side we have the jazzy and bouncy I Can’t Get Enough of You with amazing solos. Good balance of styles 😉 Thanks Roger! BTW terrific picture too!

....yes, Dick Robertson had an amazing range of singing styles. He could be goofy and annoying, and also be perfect for romantic ballads. My original exposure to "That's My Desire" was with the rock n roll version. Thanks for your input!

Thanks Prozoot! Never heard of them. Were they African-American? (not the singers, but the band) found a really interesting history of the Grand Central Red Caps, trying to find more of this band....

....if the band was made up of authentic Red Caps, then it's probable they were all Black (except the vocals, of course). 1931 was such a rotten year for record sales, it's a shame there were these limited sessions. They're just a tease for what might have been.

Very surprised you posted this statement on your channel-I’ve never seen you write anything that wasn’t about music before-but I understand what has moved you to do so. Desperate times, etcetera. What’s more, I entirely agree with your viewpoint. And what’s even yet more, I live in San Francisco, so I already had to endure the years Harris was the DA. Not a good memory. But as always, THANK YOU SO MUCH for what you do with these records, and then making them available for me and others to hear. For my taste, your channel is one the most valuable things on KZbin.
