I have a 1919 half dollar mom had it ..she passed so I went through her suit case and I have found alot of old coins in mint condition..I don't have the money to get graded so what should I do???

Go on EBAY and see what these coins are selling for. Compare the look of your coins to whats being sold. This give you an idea of the grade ( good, very good, fine, etc). If your coins are of any relative value establish an EBAY seller account. Next take pictures of the front and back of each coin. Download the pictures and write up an ad for each coin you wish to sell. Base your selling price on what similar coins are going for on EBAY. You can either sell under an auction format OR simply BUY IT NOW price. I have sold a bunch of coins on EBAY and have done quite well for myself. Its really not that hard. Just be aware that EBAY gets about a 10 % cut on the sale and you need to set up a paypal account. This seems like a lot of work but its better than trying to sell to a dealer or coin shop. They usually only want gold or silver coins and try to give you the scrap price based on the metal content of each coin. Screw them. Do your research and see if selling on EBAY is the way to go in your case. Good luck.

@@bettyblackburn5408 ...I would NOT send my coins off to some auction house without knowing their value beforehand. You are leaving yourself open to being ripped off. Spend the time and find out what they are worth first. Research a coin or two a day on your computer and make a simple spreadsheet to create an accurate inventory. List date, condition, and approximate value of each coin. Betty, there are a dozen websites that show examples of each type of coin in various grades. Compare your coins to the pictures. There are other websites that will give you an idea of present value of your coins. While its tempting to just sell the whole collection in one shot you will more than likely only get half its value if that. Take the time and learn what each coins is worth before you try to sell them. At that point you can decide whether to go the EBAY route or another method. Good luck !

silver streak ty so much for info..I wish I could do all this ..maybe I can get some graded through pcgs..can I send you some pics if I can do it..damn I just wished I had somebody I could trust I have every wheat leaf you could think of all kinds of good coins 1921 ..silver dollar 1922 silver dollars only have 2 of those ..then 1966 pure silver half John Kennedy half dollar an 1967 rainbow Kennedy half ..plus all those my mom had..damn I wished I could send them all off if I had the money to do it..I may send ncg or whatever that other grading comp is I called they sent me the papers to fill out said I'd get 150 in free grading ..but the membership is 149 ..so that's a good deal..then pcgs the other grading told me I had to have at least 4000 in coins ...no..excuse me that was heritage's auction I had to have at least 4000 in coins before they would take in auction..how am I supposed to know if my coins would go for that amount of bread..damn it. some body call me or something tell me an help me through this I'd love to make some money off these

Good video, my man I didn't know that the mint held them back and released a bit at a time. Sounds suspiciously familiar to the West Point mint quarters about to be released soon.I won a auction on eBay and I have one of those 31S , Lincoln's. I'm the old guy in Florida who has started collecting a year and a half ago. Good informative video once again. Good job 😎

you have to remember that back in those day the penny was worth something not very many people could afford to take money out of circulation they needed to eat. today much different, today they want to get ride of pennies. and have shop keepers just round up/ down. thanks for sharing.

In your opinion does grading through AANACS/ICG lower a coins sell-ability/value compared to PCGS/NGC? My pop's graded the new palladium eagle through ICG, came back PF69 DCAM...and he wants me to sell through eBay, and I don't know how to list it...same price as other grades, or lower cause it's through ICG. thanks for your time

Has anyone ever had a 1931 with a die break, I think this one is a cud break and it is on both sides. It's almost just smoothes and choppy on the right hand edge and it's on both obverse but I'm not able to find anything for that year....should I grade it?

Usually banks have a $100 per day policy for non customers so you can still get rolls from the bank. If you get an account at the bank you should be able to order coins like boxes of halves of dimes.

I recently found a 1909 Wheat back, no mint mark and a 1964 dime while out walking around. my sister ended up with a 1972 Double headed Lincoln, no mint mark. Does anybody know what these coins are worth approximately?
