We had the pleasure of owning a 1936 Austin 12 light for many years in good condition but in need of re conditioning but run great. Sadly had to let it go from Blackpool

What a lovely car and absolutely oozing character. I'd really enjoy owning that car. A little gentle restoration and it would be lovely.

Shouldn't be surprised the car travelled 40 miles there under its own steam. I own a 1932 Morris Minor Two-Seater, not the post-war Alec Issigonis version but the one launched in 1928 to take on the Austin Seven (and spawned the first small two-seater M.G. Midget in 1929), and since I returned it to the road just before Christmas 2020 I have covered 15,000 miles and taken it all over the UK. The only English counties yet to visit from my home in Worcestershire, is Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, and Cornwall. I've done most of the Scottish counties. and three in Wales too. In May I intend driving down to the south coast and get the ferry to France; destination... as far south as time permits. Someone once said to me "The car doesn't know how old it is. Just use it and it'll repay in being a faithful and reliable travelling buddy." That has been true.

Cooling system is thermo-syphon and has no water pump, hence the large radiator & hoses. I think the “thing” you clicked on the floor out of shot would be the main beam switch; lots of cars had them there as it was quite a convenient place. Great video to watch.

Yep, and the beauty of thermo-syphon is that it continues to circulate the coolant with the engine off, so if it does happen to suffer with a bout of overheating in hot weather you can knock the engine off for a few minutes and it cools down very quickly. Also doesn't pressurise the system so you can remove the cap to check the level while you're waiting and top it up if it has dropped a little.

Lovely car and great video. Do you know if it sold at the auction? I cant find it in any of the auction results on the website.

Nice old car but prefer post war cars personally.
