On "My Car Story" we're in Oakbrook, IL on 6-18-17 at the Father’s Day Car Show at Oakbrook Shopping Center Mall.
We're looking at a 1936 Ford DeLuxe 2 Door 5 Five Window in Red Paint with a V8 Engine.
The car’s Owners is Laverne Pater, and today her Son Jim and Grandson Matt share details on the car. Jim shared his Father bought the car in 1994 specifically so he’d have a car for this car show.
After a restoration, the car looks brand new off the showroom floor and the goal was complete as the car has been displayed in the show for over 20 years.

Vent wing windows are available on 1940 Ford models, also known as no draft ventilation, same goes to all 1940 Chrysler product cars. For 1933, all GM cars does have no draft ventilation, also have vent wing windows on its front doors. Many car buyers with rumble seat wanted the vent wing windows, since it is very popular on cars with rumble seat, such as 1936 Ford V-8 DeLuxe roadster, convertible with rumble seat, and a new body style, Club convertible with a back seat inside the top making a 4 season car. Bad news: no seat belts for the occupants.

Nice rebuild, I like originality, I dont mind a little dress up but most go to far with no fenders, chopped down roof and over size tires. Why is this called a 5 window coupe when it has 6 windows?

Hate to be picky, but if you did a frame off restoration its not "original" A better term would be "restored". A car is original only once. Beautify car BTW. I always thought a '36 Ford was one of nicest looking Ford's made.

Hmmm, good point. I think the "original" discussion is based on all the parts and restoration is to make it look back the the way the Factory designed it.

Great video! Beautiful car! Perfectly restored. I love that it was kept original. It is a sin to chop up classic old cars and make them into hot rods. I am very much a proponent of restoring to factory original condition.

I had a 36 Ford just like this that I got in the 70s' and built. I paid about $1.50 for at a 5 &10 cent store as an AMT Model car kit.

Absolutely beautiful. The 1935-1936 Ford are some of my favorite all time Fords, all the chrome and ornaments are spectacular. I love that its all original and not chopped and hot rodded like a lot of them are, I like that it looks the way would've looked when it rolled off the Ford assembly line in 1936. Great video Lou!

Ford did not offered vent wing windows until 1940 on closed models, such as a 2 door coupe, 2 door fastback sedan, 4 door sedan, and a 4 door woody station wagon. It could be an optional equipment for the pre-1940 Ford cars. Vent wing windows are popular on the 1936 Ford DeLuxe convertible coupe with a rumble seat and a Club convertible with the full width back seat inside the top and a trunk for storage.

I have never experienced a car with the flat head V8, hope to someday. I often wonder about how hard it must be to keep the paint from getting scratched with one of those crazy hinged hood set ups...One false move and....scratch...yipes...
