This car reminds me of a 1938 Desoto and freind from long ago bought as a project for a daily. His was in the exact same condition but the engine was tired. With a set of rings and bearings we as teens were mobile. My Freind passed years ago but i know he would have loved to see the Chrysler up and running . Merry Christmas From Queensland!!

That imperial is stunningly in original shape! Every time I see an episode with it, it’s jaw dropping original preservation is something special to behold. And seeing all the technical engineering and design in this car is incredible. Seeing a lot of stuff I did not think was engineered and built into cars until years and years later.

I was thirteen when my dad let me start working in his gas station. Other than lube and oil changes, the first mechanical service I learned was brake jobs. Of course, in those days we just blew off the brake dust in a cloud with the air hose.

And to think of all the actual craftsmanship in the casting and metal work! You won't find any of that in the cheap Chinese garbage that is put out now. Great channel. Lockheed brakes!!! THAT is awesome to see. Malcolm Loughheed invented hydraulic brakes 1917, but the seal was leather. Wagner/Chrysler made the seal rubber for reliability/durability. Chrysler had hydraulic brakes years before Ford. Loughheed and his brother became the famous aviation company, changed name to Lockheed. Malcolm died 1958 on government assistance at his gold mine in Molkolumne Hill California.

The more racing the better! I want to see the '37 Chevy and the '38 Chrysler go full NASCAR around Laura's field! Tractor pulls, Model T trials, street drag races; I love it all! The Winter Beater Challenge with rust buckets trading paint like a chariot race at the Roman Colosseum! The CWM viewers want blood... or rather trans fluid, motor oil, anti-freeze, body damage! You get the idea. How about a CWM Demolition Derby? Can you get that by the legal department?

If Myles must retire the Newport, his next winter beater has to be a Mopar from the Fuselage era, and it has to be an RB that he can cam to within an inch of its life. We want the chop; leave the Camry hybrids to someone else. Dan's Imperial is beyond magnificent. Can't wait to see the fuel system sorted and all the sheet metal attached. I'm also looking forward to the marathon blocking on Ash's 411 roof skin and the requisite ball-busting that will be meted out during the games. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention how much joy I get from seeing Miss Frankers snout deep in the snow. Wishing all at CWM a wonderful and Merry Christmas!

I always wondered what these 1930's cars were like when new and now I know, what an example of World class engineering the Imperial is. Am shocked to learn Myles is parting with his consummate winter beater, the Newport. Is he after yet another Poncho to break the MOPAR mold? We’ll see, I guess. The visits to the GCFE yields so much; the undercarriage shots of the Imperial are the stuff of legend as are what’s sitting in the garage awaiting future transformations. Same is true for Jim’s shop, that has a virtual embankment of riches. Old Mopars and panel bashing - it's what we need at Christmas time. I look forward to the Imperial vs. Chev battle of the pre-war beauties. And I also appreciate the production values at around the 8:10 mark, when Myles drove away and the transition that expanded across the screen was a Pentastar. That's a nice touch. I don't remember seeing that before in a CWM video.
