2 nights ago I visted an old friend of mine Jim Wilson of Belfield Sydney Australia and in his garage sat his 1938 SS 100. He is a whiz with Jaguars he looked after my Mark V in the 1970's.

The SS derives from the company's original name Swallow Swift they started making sidecars! in the Leslie Charteris Saint book series the lead character drives a Hirondelle {French for Swift}

in 1939 a British Gent by the name of John Rhodes Cobb Built a Car and went too the Bonneville Salt Flats and Raced it Too 368 mph.. only thing that could catch it was the ww2 fighter planes and most of them werent built yet
