I just found this video. I have the same setup. I have taken this to a driveshaft shop. And was told that this setup was a hack job, just to make it work. Have also been told that the ball is supposed to slide off in order to get to the bearing inside. Can you show what the other end it the shaft looks like? I have never seen another like this.

I have a 1948 chevy stylemaster did a a torque tube ball joint service do I have to fill up with oil also ?

Yes, there is a small plug (like a small version of the one on the rear differential, put gear lube in that hole until it comes out the fill hole (upper-level check plug) of the transmission. The end of the transmission is right there so once the joint is submerged it will continue to get lubed by the fluid in the transmission.

It's not converted it is original. what kind of issue are you having?

Thats cool, I have a 1950 ute, not truck with 3 spd manual behind a 216, want to get rid of the torque tube diff but keep my 3 spd torque tube gearbox, yours looks perfect it keeps a torque tube transmission and converts to open drive shaft for the diff
