This is the old '41 Ford earning its keep. I got it in 2013 and it actually runs very good though it is well worn and could use an overhaul. I welded up the rear wheels and put on new rubber and a set of chains. It starts quick like a brand new car, and will get new paint next summer. This tractor is 79 years old. Not much to look at now but with new front tires and paint it will get to be "pretty" again.
One thing I do is starve it for fuel to shut it down. I turn off the fuel and when it stalls I turn off the ignition. This insures that the carburetor is nice and dry and that there isn't any fuel left in the cylinders that hasn't been burned. This leaves a nice coating of oil on the cylinder walls and insures easy starting. It will also prevent any issues caused by leaving fuel in the carburetor.
