I did the trans, by myself, on my "47 Tudor sedan last year, (on the floor - side-shift trans). Went thru all the same issues you did but did my homework before attempting the job. Videos & books. Saved a lot of time. Used the same master cylinder adapter but modified it slightly so I didn't have to cut the floor. A big "no-no" in my world.

I tried to find some books but came up dry. Even the places I bought parts from didn't have any resources. On the bright side, I don't think I'll have to do it again 👍🏼

Great work on the repairs. The old Ford runs and sounds pretty good, minus that pedal squeak of course (!!), for an 83 year old mostly original vehicle. Lovin' the red wheels. Will look spectacular with the original centre caps. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
