I began to put this truck together for someone back in 2008. I rebuilt the Brakes, Wheel Cylinders, Transmission and Transfer Case. I installed new tires, 8.25 X 20's, on modern Accuride Safety Wheels. Burbank Speed and Machine rebuilt the engine, Burbank Radiator rebuilt the Rad. by hand. I found this bed and rebuilt it with new wood. There is still some work to be finished and this year will be very productive. Here is a link to the restoration process from purchase to present; forums.g503.com/viewtopic.php.... Thanks for watching.

I have not seen one of those heaters since I left Alaska bound for Korea in the early 70's. Brings back some strong memories of my younger days during the Vietnam era.

Excellent truck. True steel horse. This engine is one of GM's biggest successes. I really like WW2 military vehicles. Greetings from Brazil.

Thanks Carlos for your compliment. There is a guy somewhere in Your country who restored one of these trucks. Believe it or not, the Brazilian Army had some of these trucks in use during W.W. 2. Your National Symbol, Circle with Stars, was painted on the doors. Really cool.

Yes. Our armed forces have always used North American equipment. Here we have many clubs and military vehicle collectors that keep them in good condition. I had a 1953 Reo M-34 6x6 truck.

I always keep my firewood right next to my wood heater. That way if it catches on fire 🔥 The whole thing will burn down and I have nothing to worry about anymore. Worry free😫

Right!! Actually, this wood was so wet it was steaming as it heated up and this was the last time burning wood before I switched over to LIQUID DINOSAURS.

Just found your channel today. I just watched the video of the two trucks bought at auction. In the name of science I wanted to research when you were first bitten by the bug. Looks like it started here with this truck! I know doctors really don't have a cure for your type of collecting, but don't worry. Many people continue to lead good lives....even if they have two....or three trucks.

Dancing Alone wRentals, THANK YOU SOO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENT, I HAD A GOOD SPIRIT LIFTING LAUGH OF REASSURANCE. It all started back in Dec. 1995 when I purchased my very 1st. Chevy. Since then I have restored/repaired more than 14 W.W. 2 trucks. The director at Fort MacArthur Museum once told me that I "was made for working on these rusting hulks". I volunteered/worked there for about 8 years. Just imagine having a disorder that MAKES you have THE NEED to clean rust, remove Waspspsesess nests, and make things as new again. IT'S AWFUL because there just isn't enough time in the day!!! AAUUGH!!!

@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698

R.R.R. Thanks for watching my video first off. Now for the big news, You can rest easy knowing that GMC used insert bearing and was fitted with an oil pump that supplied pressure to the crank, cam and all points in between and developed a max pressure of 58 lbs. per square inch. HOWEVER, the engine that came in these trucks originally was a 235 c.i.d. engine with the Babbit bearings.

@@w.w.2restorations.vehicles698, oh, if only I were much younger (76)! I love those old WWii era trucks. They saved a lot of lives during the war and were used all over the world by the Allies. Sadly, so many were just abandoned and left to rot. Now a fully restored one can cost you a fortune!
