Holy Jesus, there is the sound. I need to end up with a guitar like this. Great playing on the demo

Matt Rieger has an incredible touch... Every single one of his demo's sounds fantastic! Lovely guitar

You should have mentioned, that Buddy Holly owned one of those models. 1943 Banner J45. He wrote most of his songs on it.

Wow,.. what a gorgeous demo Matt! What’s that Gabriel tune, “Salisbury Hill”? Lovely! Thanks for sharing this wonderful instrument and an essential piece of American history.

Yes…. Did he say “no steel truss Rod”? Does that mean you can never straighten the neck? Or are those made pretty straight?
@walterrizotto86682 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't trust him on that (or on much else, in fact). This one does have a truss rod.
@jimmycollette92092 жыл бұрын
@@walterrizotto8668 It has a truss rod cover or he showed the headstock of another guitar.

Guys … during war time… Gibson made several guitars with a truss rod cover on the headstock, but actually without a truss rod underneath. That’s the fact… war time … difficult times ! And restrictions on metal

Amazing tone. Like slipping into a nice warm bathtub of scotch. I just can't with those old Gibson necks tho. The C or the D. I even feel like they're probably more ergonomic, I know my hand gets fatigued less quickly, but I just can't do anything... not mellow...

Sounds great, but some simple strumming to compare what my ears know would have been helpful.

No truss rod !!! Then why is there a truss rod cover on the headstock ??? I think you might have the year wrong on that one. I'm pretty sure that during WWII they didn't put truss rods in those big fat necks. There was a metal shortage, along with a lot of other shortages back then.
@Jimi_7-7-7 Жыл бұрын
there are war time Gibsons with a truss rod cover, but without a truss rod. And others miss both… I own a 1943 war time L7 Archtop, and it’s without truss rod or cover. It’s one of the best guitars I have ever touched. Love it so deep 👏
