1943 Harley Davidson WLC Short ride

The side valve WLC only has 3 gears, and the top and second gear ratios are far apart, so it's not good at going uphill with twists and turns, but when I changed the carburetor from Mikuni to the original Linkart, it started climbing powerfully even in top gear.
