I know a sound engineer probably hates it, but I LOVE the way those bass runs push the mic to its limit.

Probably because he learned high on drugs that once he sobered up was this guy here and is like. “Idk how i learned to do this... but i guess im a flat picker!”

My dad who is 83. Has one of these. He used to make it ring. Had a stroke 8 years ago. It’s been in moth balls ever since. I truly miss it.

@@sammyscalco4095 Right on! Though not a Doc Watson original, it's a traditional fiddle tune played by many folks. Billy is playing it in Doc's style, though. Happy picking!

THIS is why the Martin D28 is the standard by which all others are judged!!! ( Gibson Advanced Jumbo gives it a good run for its money though)

The "style" is "flat picking" which is a large part of the genre Bluegrass. This particular tune is called "Billy in the lowground." Doc Watson played (recorded) a version of this also, back in the early 70s.

"Billy in the Low Ground" is, we realize, only a name for a bluegrass tune -- 'cause Billy Strings ALWAYS occupies the high ground when fingers meet guitar.
