Very refreshing to see a young man working (and teaching) the art of mechanical work! I restored an F-20 when I was 16, and that was 40 years ago. Yes, of course keep it up and learn as much as you can while you approach other projects.

is there an exploded view of a Farmall M carburetor anywhere?

Proud of you son! You are a luck young man to have the knowledge to do such things! You remind me of myself at your age! I rebuilt my farmall100 when I was 14 years old! Keep up the good work bud!

it is supposed to leak out the bottom wen u start it with the choke once u shut the choke off it goes away
@adizzle17211 жыл бұрын
that hole is the overflow drain, if it has gas flowing out of it, you either have a bad needle valve which doesn't look like the case or your float bowl is not set right to shut the needle valve.

Nice job, keep at it. I hope the old H is still running well. I love these old tractors. One thought....be careful with the wrench on the battery....if the wrench gets bumped or turned, it will make quite the fireworks show as it welds to the two terminals. (been there, did that, it was not pleasant. Wrecked the wrench and the battery).

Great job young man! Love the effort put into your project, keep it up. Very informative video too!

@ Michael Curry. Are you saying it was manufactured that way? Why would the manufacturer want to let the gas drip on the block and strip the paint off the tractor? I don'T agree that it is 'supposed to' leak out.
@michaelcurry159512 жыл бұрын
It is supposed to do that i believe it does that to keep from flooding

Your needle valve keeps sticking because you're running ethanol fuel, you need to run an in line filter to stop that

You're a smart fellow, thanks for the advice.

great video. keep it up :P i think that this carburetor is working properly. ive noticed with these farmal carbs, if you choke the tractor while starting it sucks an extreme amount of fuel into the carburetor. and if you choke the tractor to much, it will completely fill the air horn up with fuel and cut off the tractors air. hence the not starting. to prevent this from happening just use less choke on the tractor. and the next time it happens just let the fuel drain out of the carb. or you can take off the intake hose where it connects to the carb and all the gas will come out.

All I need is a battery, wires and a starter! lol Nice job Buddy!

When you pull the choke all the way yes it is ment to drip out other wise all that gas would be stuck in the intake and flood out the engine

I'm not complaining, I am actually glad to see this but your what 14 years old or so and working on an old tractor. that to me is a good thing. great video though

There haven't been any accidents like that yet. I connect the positive first so you don't have to worry about sparking if the wrench would touch a ground by accident.

Have you made any videos on adjusting the carb after rebuild?
@maniakaz13 жыл бұрын
Did the cleaning of the needle and seat fix it, or are you going to replace them? Our needle/seat sticks sometimes on our 1940 H. Right now I use the rock method to fix it. If I see its dripping I hit the side of the carb with a rock which frees up the needle. I grabbed a rebuild kit that has a needle and seat and I'll swap them out.

Great job young man! I was impressed! One thing though. Its not clear to me that you did anything to the insides of the carb. Looks to me like just taking it apart and putting it back together. I didn't see any cleaning or anything like that. Sometimes just taking things apart and putting them back together is enough to make sticky things unsticky! Great job!

Great video. Same problem with my H. I believe I'll replace my needle. Did you replace yours.
