Unfortunately we in the USA have the issue of "A" circuit generators and regulators and "B" circuit generators and regulators. Additively, we have two brush externally grounded; 2 brush internally grounded; 3 brush....as well as 6 and 12 volt and negative and positive systems. Makes it tough. Don't know if you are saddled with these issues or not

Some guy Joe cell from Australia mentioned those generator regulators suposedly reverse polarity do you know sir what he means be that??? Is he actualy apllying to Amplidyne generators?? He mentioned shorting acros points on the regulator with peace of metal so what wuld that do to the generator and regulator? Aperantly the baterry goes dead flat but does not explode for some reason. So can those generators act as motors or magnetic brakes for some reason? Never hade opertunity to ask older peopel who worked with such generators in fact me Delco 12si alternator does similar behaviore and its anoying realy cant finde good explanation why the car runs bether and smuther but most of the time I end up with dead baterry even more wiard it is when I use capacitors then that thing continues back charges up to 3 to 4000rpm the bulb refuse to shut off. So I dono how counter such unusual effects .

Many older vehicles had the positive battery connection connected to the chassis. To convert the system to a negative chassis connection, the battery connections must first be swapped, and before the engine is started, the generator must be polarised to charge negative chassis. In the video I mention that the generator relies on residual magnetism to begin generating a voltage, and this residual magnetism will need to be reversed before operation. This can be done by simply closing the reverse current relay for a second, and make sure the contacts are forced open, or they will stay closed and burn out the armature. Once the generator has been polarised, it will charge with the correct polarity. I hope this is of some help. Regards, Petar.
