Man I remember when I was young when my dad would come home with the old Peterbilt he'd blow the air horn me and my brother and sisters would run out to hug him and he'd be wearing his classic Woolrich sweater and we'd all be so happy. My family has been in the logging business since 1959 and were still logging, We love it! Thumbs up if you remember those time

I love this channel, cuz I lived and worked all over Whatcom County for 35 years. And my dad drove for Crown Zellerbach all thru the 70s in Neah Bay, Wa.

Nice truck. I used to see this truck often when I hauled logs one summer (1989) in a 62 Pete from the San Juans into SedroW and then all around Skagit County through the years.

@@104bigTruck Thanks, nice to hear it's going through a resto to be used again another day! The very first 18 wheeler I ever drove was a late 40s Pete with a Hall-Scott 4 x 3 trans with a tank trailer being used by the Lopez Island fire dept. as a water tanker.

That is a very nice truck you have. Your positive sense of initiative and enterprise in rebuilding a logging truck and using it on a commercial basis is proof positive that you are a very good logging operator. Its real nice to see a 1948 Peterbilt in commercial use today. Brian from eastern Canada.

right Steven, this proves these ol girls never die! this is when America took pride in their trucks building them like tanks and 70 years later, this ol Pete is still in use for the logging industry. I wish more of these ol rigs were still in use today.

I have to comment on this.Love the truck.Anyone can get a loan and buy a new truck. And the comment about clearcutting the Forests? This man is doing his job.The reason trees are cut is to supply a demand.Even tree huggers have to wipe their ass.Oh,not to offend anyone, but a loaded logging truck is called a Spotted Owl motorhome. So hug a tree, but kiss my ax.I mean my chainsaw.Thank you for hauling those logs.

We dont need your water it rains 11 months out of the yr here in the Pacific Northwest. lol Oil? We have enough oil in N Dakota alone to last us 100 yrs at our current rate of consumption. The only reason we buy foreign is because of political reasons. Truly we have trees growing like weeds here. I'm hauling three log loads over 100 yrs later here in the Northwest because trees grow and we have forest managment.
