CAR?..REALLY??? That's a work truck if you ever saw one! All low end power. Won't do over 45MPH

Excellent, I pretty much have the same truck, and I want to restore it. Still has the bed and sideboards, and was in use by my dad on the farm, and for lumber runs into town, until 1999, when he and my mom closed up the house and went to live w my sis. I inherited the house, land and a few vehicles. I'm keeping this one, a 1953 dodge P.U., and a Vintage Camper, will sell the rest to fund restoration. I look forward to see your progress. I saw a fully restored, and custom Loadmaster at a car show, and was inspired. My patina is brick red and shades of blue/green. Not much rust, just 20 years of sitting in a field under the Colorado sun (Interior is toast)

Why do you call it a car over and over? It’s a truck.

How many times is this guy is going to call this truck a car. It's a truck in every sense of the word. Even closer to a tractor if you will. But not a car. And the engine is not from a Corvette because they had blue flame written on it and multiple carburetors for number one nor is it a 1958 engine period. This engine is between a 1941 -53 oil dipper type 235 they came with the valve cover bolts on top the valve cover from 54 to 62 the valve cover bolts were on the sides. And the engine had a different oiling system. So there's no truth to anything about the engine that was said, but it's a decent old Chevy truck that behaves more like a farm tractor than a car. They had amazing pulling power

Thanks Tbone. Lots of trucks in the midwest of this vintage to still be had. I regularly see them for $1000 or less. The good news is they were rarely driven outside of the growing season and harvest so very little rust from salted roads. Good luck with your search!
