Benz people had no idea that the body is the only thing that's stock. Basically just got taken down by a ZR1.... that looks like a 50 Buick.

I had a ‘54 Buick 2-door given me in 1967 by a friend of my Dad. Outstanding road car. Bi put in a ne W/S, exhaust and some seat covers before I went into the Marines in ‘68. My family was living in Bangor and my Dad and I were living in Chicopee, MA. Great road car; enormous in-line six. Very smooth and gas was around 24 cents a gallon. Loved it

I'm sure that these cars will be around for a very long time. It's the best of both worlds, the elegant style of the old cars and the modernity of the mechanicals. These cars are rolling artwork. Congratulations on your vision, and for NOT wrecking these old beautys with unnecessary bodywork. .

I was never able to figure out what this guy meant by end dices when he was talking about the gauges in his various videos. It finally dawned on me that he was just mispronouncing indices (in-duh-seez). Now it makes sense. Absolutely love what Icon is doing with the vehicles, though and would love to own one of these gems some day.

Another excellent example of the Icon innovative craftsmanship and brilliant execution. I wish I had the means to have a Icon FJ 40 and pick a Derelict to have built to enjoy. The hardest part of owning Icon vehicles is which one to drive. Great job.

Again, a nice endeavor! In an earlier video (the tour of the ICON facility) you called that two-tone green "Derelict to be" 1948 Pontiac a 1947. I was a little confused, but I took your word for it. My parents owned a two-tone 1948 just like that back in '53 or '54. We moved to California and he traded it to someone in Southern California. It sure brings back memories!

i would put you in the same 'class", meaning that as a compliment, as Horacio Pagani. Different vehicles of course but design ethics, attention to detail etc. ....superb. Leoanrdo Da Vinci said "art and science are two disciplines that must walk together hand in hand"...i know Horacio follows that and i sense you do too. All the best from Sydney, Australia.

As soon as I cash my winning lottery ticket in I will be winging it from rainy Manchester to your magic making premises in sunny California to purchase one of these custom “derelicts”. And yes I could see the thought bubble over the car you burned off at the end, the guy thinking “ UFO’s HERE ??”
@paul1x16 жыл бұрын
One day I will have enough cash to get something this guy has built the old Rolls is still the coolest car I have ever seen practical and so much fun I’d get a manual transmission and I’d be worried about the body continuing to deteriorate but that’s what I’d get all the answers to from icon

WONDERUL, AMAZING! Every video i see from your cars and projects shock me, i love them! As a young classic car enthusiast, i'm 21, this is like something from another world, just having finished my studies i'm a mechanic from an official Citroën garage in Catalonia, i own an old 2 cylinder Citroen, a '71 spanish dodge dart and a '66 Seat (fiat) 1500, all of them in quite bad shape as i have no money to keep them running in good condition but they're my whole life. You know, my dream was taking the '66 Seat and doing what you do with your icon cars, but knowing i can't do it for money and bad spanish legislations to homologate any modifications in my car have made me stop dreaming... Its sad being unable to achieve a dream if you really love cars this way, but the fact of sitting in front of my own computer and seing someone has done it in such a succesful way, watching your car's details, their way to move on the road, their ride, their power, their comfort.... Extremely simple: No words! Thanks to share your amazing work to the world.

I owned a lot of '50's Buicks (mostly 52,53, 55 and 57's and as a kid, I only tinkered with them because I was a teen back then. At one point I owned 4 1953 Buicks. A Century 4door sedan, straight 8; a Special, 2 door with post sedan straight 8, (both with 6 volt systems). Then a 2door hardtop Riviera, v8 and a Roadmaster v8 both with 12V systems). I would have kept them except my parents wanted their yard back after I turned 21. One thing that killed these cars were the cable operated vacuum driven windshield wipers and those knee bend shock absorbers. My favorite was the Riviera but the driver side wiper cable broke & no one wanted to repair it so it died a soft death of time in my yard until it came time to junk it. How did you approach this windshield wiper in your rebuild (if you didn't leave them stock)? .
