@@ModernNeandertal the patina looks great I think. Classic Icon build
@ModernNeandertal5 жыл бұрын
@@brettlazor8219 Why fix the car up except for the paint? Paint protects the metal and a good paint job is just as important as the updated upholstery.
@ModernNeandertal5 жыл бұрын
My point is this. Which car would you choose if there were two of them sitting there identical in every way except one had a beautiful new paint job and the other looked like it had sat out in a barn or field for 60 years and was Patina, patina, patina. You only get to pick one. And I bet the newly painted one would be worth thousands more than the burnished rusted one.

Brilliant as always, I promised myself not to make lots of money. Your product makes it hard, old school with just the rite tech and go! I’m a Jeweler that took a less glamorous life just to simplify my life in order to last longer and enjoy my wife. Your project make me drool and surge and run in circles! Great job for you and your team for such good work. Thank you for your videos. Love them.

There is always a percentage of viewers that are "Original buffs" that believe doing anything outside of factory even updating it to 12 volt is a no no! I figure that is the minor down arrow votes the guys that frown on modification. Too bad really because I've restored several 50s Chevy's and a IHC Harvester R110 to original condition and they are not drive worthy on today's roads. Some have no turn signals, just one brake light and it's barely visible. They have no license plate lights and no seat belts, nothing in the way of modern support for the head like modern seating has and so on. In short if you really want to drive and use the thing as a daily driver and actually keep up with traffic you are forced to at the least upgrade some things. I applaud the full upgrade though. If I weren't an old man I'd love to snag one of these fine trucks by ICON! Great job guys!

Patina, Patina, Patina!! Superb looking truck, even with the "faux" panels that are works of art in and of themselves. So what if they are done with paint? Perfectly fits the rest of the vehicle. Exceptional work as ever.

I love your work. The craftmanship and attention to detail is a work of art. What I love about your products is you can use them daily, so I'm curious to see how these vehicles hold up over long periods of time. How many miles a year do you think your customers drive? Have you ever reviewed a car that you or a customer have used for years. The way you build, im sure ALL your vehicles can last well over 100k miles.

Very cool truck! I also like the idea of it beeing a functional art, and trying to achieve both things. Would love to see even more of the build process and the struggles with it. And I want to add that it not beeing another LS-preformance speed monster, but a "workers truck" is cool!

Awesome truck. If I would be nitpicking I would say not a big fan of the new knobs on dash and steering wheel console. Look a bit out of place. Love the leather and you nailed it on the wheels. You the man Jonathan. Maybe one day I'll have enough money to send my 63 c10 that has a lot of sentimental value.

Another fine job. The truck came out beautiful. The only thing I'd change if I were the customer, I'd put an original Napco 4x4 conversion on it. And maybe an old school Pontiac motor in it. GMC used Pontiac V8s.

This might be the coolest truck yet. Also, I am almost certain that I saw one of you creations here in Cincinnati over the week. There was a telling lizard sprawled across the trunk on a very 1940s looking 4-door sedan, possibly a Bukck or Olds. Totally neato.

Dude, I love your shades! Where did you score those? I love what you do with the vehicles. What's old is new! I have my grandfather's 1966 F250 (Camper Special) minus the camper. I grew up with this truck, going fishing and camping (granddaddy had a HUGE camper on it most of my childhood). My dad got the truck in 1985 and he gave it to me in 2016. My truck is mostly original and very solid. 123,000 miles with the original engine and manual 3 speed transmission. Anyway, I love old cars and trucks and I truly appreciate the work you do. You are a true artist with vehicles.

Finely detailed craftsmanship on the old Chevrolet/GMC pickups. One thing I would like to see is that the cargo box walls come up to the level of the cab window sills. It's always seemed odd to me that the dominant design emphasis is on the cab when it's supposed to be a working cargo carrier, a utilitarian truck, and raising the box walls to me would seem more, I don't know, balanced? appropriate? Of course I've never seen such a configuration. Just a thought.
