A great drive. Can you do a video showing the exterior and under the bonnet? I had a 52 XK120M FHC... Sadly I had to sell it to get money to build my two wonderful daughters new bedrooms in our log cabin. But at least I have a diecast model of it on my desk... That and your wonderful videos helps to fill my yearning for yesteryear! Thanks! Will check your web site.

My friend had a '50 ... kind of a basket case ... only about 230ish made of the all aluminum ones ... her's was #83 ... bought it in '68 for $75.00 ... sold it for $75000.00 ... ended up to a collector in Italy who fully restored it ...

It is a little “hard” on the transmission to “hammer” it in first gear. Also, all XK jaguars are 12 volt. They had two 6 volt batteries wired in series to provide 12 volts. They will work with one 12 volt battery but the two 6 volt will give more cranking amps.

Yeah, would of loved to see the car itself being driven not just from the drivers view. 👀

Strange that i have never found a post 1950 XK120 without the barss plate. For example our family's XK120 M (SE). Supposedly the show car from the New York international Auto Show.

Interesting. I too have seen a lot of post 1950 120s with the brass plate-but also many without. And one that passed through our doors years ago was an extremely original '52... no plate to be found. I would be curious to find out if this was perhaps a dealer add-on after 1950? Seems there is some research to be done about this. Thanks for sharing!

Jag's have been the biggest mechanical pieces of garbage on the road since inception. Want to spend half of the next 7 years sitting in a jaguar dealership waiting room? "Buy a Jaguar!"
