Two things stand out immediately, Marty Glickman was the best for decades. I remember as a kid in the '50s the home games were not on TV due to local blackout NFL rules so I listened to the games on the radio. Marty Glickman did those for some time and was the best painting a picture as the game was played. The other thing, was the opening for Miller High Life beer, "The Champagne of Bottled Beer". I was only a child in 1950 but I remember my Dad didn't buy Miller because it was too expensive! It was Reingold or Schafer for hime! Great stuff.

Did you ever travel out of blackout range to rent a motel or go watch the game at a bar, an uncles house?

@@krustymadrid4953 No I dd not. I have since I have lived in another state though. I've gone to many establishments to watch the Giants play. In '56 when they won the championship I was only 9 so, it wasn't easy getting to a bar! I really enjoyed listening to the games on the radio. I went to my first game in '61.

@@MagSeven7 I'm reading a book by Gerald Eskenazi called There Were Giants In Those Days. A good read about the Giants covering the seasons 1954 to 1963, you might enjoy it

The commentary is so much better than what you get nowadays. E.g. "Connely, so well protected, that he could have written a letter home..."😂
