I restored 4 of the Doepke MG’s for my 4 grandsons ,one was a Christmas gift to me in the mid 50’s. Doepke made great toys.

Nice, awesome cool. 😀👍 Oh and you could have left the front wheels backwards if you don't want it to. On the actual motor graders, I used to operate for a living. The front tires are backwards. The groove of the tire allows the front of the motor grader to stay up on the slope when it's cutting slopes. So you can go either way with them on the front. Nice job on the grader. 😀👍

@@RepairRestore Well thank you for the come back Earl. Yeah that's a nice motor grader . It's got good metal in it. He'll make them like that anymore. Nowadays you get something like that they don't last a week. Before the wheels start falling off. Have an awesome day buddy. And again nice job it really looks nice. 😀👍

@RepairRestore3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shane. I looked at these all around the internet and never saw one with an exhaust stack. It was not until I restored the Doepke Heiliner that I realized that they just fell off super easy and that I had missed it. I will have to pick up another next time I order from Gasoline Alley Toys.

Are those 3/16 inch binding post nuts? if so did you use a 3/16 bit or one slightly larger to make the holes big enough to to attach the front wheels ?

Too bad you should have disassembled the parts more deeply. the rust is exactly where the parts overlap! The rust will be back in 6 months. watch the videos from the chip channel
@RepairRestore3 жыл бұрын
Hi Leahcim. Those parts do not come apart. They are welded together from the factory. There are no worries of rust coming back because there was nothing more than superficial rust to begin with. Chip channel is a wonderful channel and I enjoy his videos very much. Have a great day.
